Student - Te Aro, Wellington
Item: Sterling silver collier & earrings with teardrop larimar stones
The centrepiece is a casting of a piece of coral. Created with a silicone mold of the coral from which I created a wax model. I then did a lost wax casting of the model. Using the original coral piece, I made wax models of parts of its surface. These were also cast in sterling and cut lengthwise in half, filed, sanded and polished to create the chain elements. I used one of these elements to create the matching earrings.
